Official Club Statement

Wednesday 24 October 2007

In light of speculation surrounding the exit of Thamesmead Town Football Club from the London Senior Cup, the club have issued the following statement.

Thamesmead Town Football Club decided not to play Beckenham Town Football club until we had recieved assurances from Beckenham, guarenteeing our players, officials and supporters safety, following an assault on Keith McMahon on Saturday 22nd September.

As no such assurances were provided by Beckenham Town Football Club, Thamesmead Town has stood by it's decision which has resulted in Beckenham Town receiving a walk over in to the next round.

Thamesmead Town F.C. have pursued the proper channels in regard to the incident on the 22nd September to raise the issue as a disciplinary matter.
