Home game tonight has been postponed.
Following Saturday's game at Ilford falling victim to the cold weather, tonight's home game with Redbridge, which has been re-scheduled a few times already has been postponed, as the Bayliss Avenue pitch has been deemed unplayable at the moment, we now wait to see if the weather will change enough for the pitch to be playable at the weekend when the Mead are due to entertain the league leaders, Leiston.

Mead get back to winning ways as Afusi strikes.
Thamesmead Town 4-0 Soham Town Rangers
The Mead got back to winning ways in the league in one of those games where one team takes their chances and the other does not. The Mead got off to a great start when after 2 mins a corner was headed back by James Donovan, forward by Lewis Tozer and flicked home by Lea Dawson. Soham responded by creating chances and having more of the possession, but were undone when in the 38th min their keeper Dan Burcham let a Joseph Afusi shot through his grasp for 2-0 to the Mead. Then a couple of minutes later, Jordan Johnson played Daniel Kerrigan in behind the Soham defence and he shot across the keeper to make it 3-0. Soham's best chance came right on half time when Ben Seymour-Shove saw his shot well blocked by Sam Mott. The 2nd half saw both teams create chances with Soham failing to get the goal they needed, and the Mead seeing shots from Cable, Dawson and Afusi either saved or miss the target. The Mead grabbed a 4th goal in the 90th minute, when a long throw was flicked on by Lea Dawson and Joseph Afusi controlled and shot home his 2nd goal and the Mead's 4th. So the Mead will be pleased to get back on the winning trial.

Mead forced out of London Senior Cup.
Metropolitan Police 4-1 Thamesmead Town
The Mead travelled to Imber Court on Tuesday evening and despite a battling performance they slipped out of the London Senior Cup. The Met Police looked the more dangerous going forward with the Mead playing some good football but not getting clear sight's of goal. Chris Bourne broke the deadlock in the 37th minute when he sent a fine shot wide of Sam Mott. The killer goal came just after half time when Staforde Palmer got through the Mead defence to slide the ball home. Then came controversy No.1 from the referee when the Met Police keeper clearly handled outside his box but received no punishment. The Mead did get in behind the Met Police defence when Frazier Walker had a chance but he delayed, and set up Bradley Killick whose shot was saved. The Met Police got a third goal in the 64th min, when Jack McLeod raced clear to shoot home. And then on 71 mins they were awarded a penalty which Carl Wilson-Denis rolled home. Controversy No.2 from the ref came when Joseph Afusi was fouled in the box but the ref give a free kick on the edge. The Mead got a consolation goal in the 86th min when a corner fell to Joseph and he hooked a shot into the top corner. So it ended 4-1 to the Met Police and the Mead's cup interests for the season have finally come to an end.

Mead blown away by wind, as Forest take win.
Waltham Forest 2-0 Thamesmead Town
On a heavy and bumpy pitch and a blustery afternoon in Ilford, where Waltham Forest play, the Mead slipped to a 2-0 defeat. A 16th min penalty by Efe Echanomi gave Waltham Forest the lead, awarded for a push in the box. The Mead had possession but only had a couple of Rikki Cable shots over, whilst Waltham Forest created chances which saw Sam Mott make several good stops and blocks. The wind seemed to drop a little and become more gusty, but the state of the pitch made football difficult. The Mead nearly grabbed an equaliser right at the start of the second half when an Ashley Proberts cross caused problems and a defender headed over the bar, Echanomi then missed another chance for the home team, and as the half wore on, Jordan Johnson had a couple of long range efforts, one wich was tipped round the post by the Forest keeper. Ashley Proberts then had a corner tipped over, and as time ran out, Theo T-J sent a shot across the goal. However, in the 93rd minute, Waltham Forest secured the win, when Courtney White got through the Mead defence to slam the ball home.

Mead grab well earned point in Suffolk.
Leiston 2 - 2 Thamesmead Town
The Mead made the long trip to high flyers Leiston on Tuesday evening with a squad of only 12 players and grabbed a well earned point near the end of the game, word's below from Ryman site.
At the other end of the table, Leiston went back to the top despite being held to a 2-2 home draw by Thamesmead. Ashley Proberts struck for the visitors after 24 minutes and Danny Smy levelled it on the stroke of half-time. Smy was to be sent off in the second half but a Pat Brothers goal on the hour looked to have clinched all three points for the home side. Thamesmead, by then down to ten men themselves, denied them with a goal from Theo Fairweather-Johnson on the 88th minute.
