Weekly Blog Issue 10!!!!

Well another week has passed into history, they do seem to zoom by these days, and the Mead pre-season training progresses and the Gaffa continued his squad building this week and I am updated the website on Wednesday with news of two more signings and the opening fixtures for the season, as the Ryamn League published them at 10am on the 13th July, the Gaffa very kindly sent me an E-Mail with the fixture list attached. First four are on the front page, and we start with a cracker against a Heybridge team who we had some battes with last season.

On Tuesday evening I was over at the Mead and was painting the goal posts, stantions and frames white ready for the first friendly which is next Tueaday (19th) when Maidstone come to Bayliss Avenue and I think we are all looking forward to that. Terry Hill was painting the dug outs and the pitch looked in good condition and was outlined. The pre-season training was taken place on the Crossways park which is looking good too, and a good group were training and I watched them playing some shrt handed games, good to see Sam Mott back, and some of the older faces working hard, and I will get to know the new ones hopefully as the build up continues.

Watching some golf at the moment and will watch the Open over the weekend, need to try and get back to some golf and see if my handicap of 11 still stands!!!! Hope to do some work on the website over the next few weeks to try and nmake it as up to date as is possible and create new pages for other areas of the club like the Reserves who will be playing in the Suburban League and the U18's and other youth sections.

Games are now beginning to get going across the country and next Thuesday I might go and see Fulham's Europa League 2nd Leg with Simple Pie Man and some other work colleagues if they are charging a fiver again.

The weekly blog will continue I think, and it is a good way to share information less formally.

Up the Mead :-)
