Well another week has whizzed past, and still sitting in the office at this time on a Friday is not good, but extremely busy at the moment. The Mead started thier pre-season training last Saturday and had the first team, reserves and Under 18's all together for a gentle session on a lovely day. On Tuesday night, I was over at Bayliss Avenue and along with Terry Hill, we were washing the seats in the stand behind the goal, and admiring the pitch which is looking good save for a few patches where the much praised groundsman is still working. Hopefully by the time the first friendly comes around in 10 days time or so, the pitch will be in great condition, and I felt that last year it lasted well considering the use it was getting. Again in the coming season it will be well used with the 1st team, reserves, Under 18's and Charlton ladies team playing games on it. Pre-season training continued last night with more sessions to follow on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday of next week and the fitness get's built up.

Today the FA published the early rounds draw informartion for the FA Cup, FA Trophy and FA Youth Cup, details for the Mead below and I will get these on the home page soon.

FA Cup Prelim Round (3rd Sept) home v Burgess Hill Town

1st Qual Round (17th Sep) Away to one of Shoreham, Holmesdale, Lancing or Horsham YMCA

FA Trophy Prelim Round (8th Oct) home v Whitstable Town

FA Youth Cup (week commencing 19th Sep) 1st Qual Round home v Hastings United or Tonbridge Angels

Not done any research yet, but they don't seem bad draws and give us a fair chance of progression. And a good run in the FA Cup or FA Trophy would be invaluable.

Nothing much more to add for now, tomorrow I am hopefully going to go and see the Welling v Charlton friendly.
