Weekly Blog - Issue 3!!!!!!

Well another week has zoomed past and the information I have gleaned from Twitter, Facebook and the Kentish Football site in the last week is as follows:

Pre-Season games which I know about at the moment are as follows;

23rd July - Welling United (Home)

30th July - Ramsgate (Away)

2nd August - Sittingbourne (Home)

4th August - Whitstable (Home)

I am sure the Gaffa will want a few more run-outs and a chance to give players a try out. Have not had that walk over to the ground yet, but I off work next week and although decorating daughter's room is planned, I might try and have a stretch of my legs at some point. As I said last week, it looks like work is going on and it would be good to have some update. Hugo Langton has stated on the Kentish Football site that he wants to be a manager now or have more responsibility, but stated that he parted on good terms with Keith and enjoyed his time with the Mead. Hugo's new coaching blog is interesting too, and I think I publicised that last week too. The opportunity for apprentices on the front page is a good one and hopefully there will be intererest in that and the success of the Youth Teams last season bodes will for the future, and Keith has always seemed keen to give young players an opportunity which is great to see. I think I have said before that developing young players and bringing them through is important all all levels, but even more so at the Mead's level. Finding a gem could be the opportunity for the club to earn valuable income and hopefully the develop of the new facilities, the new initiatives which would come from this, and maybe more of the community visiting the new facilities, might help to increase attendances. Well you can always hope!!!!!

Up the Mead :-)

Re: Weekly Blog - Issue 3!!!!!!

Well Champion's League final this evening and I hope it is a good game and I am not fussed who wins, Manchester United are not liked by a lot of people which always seems to happen when you have success, but then they are one of these clubs who have supporters all over the place, similar to Barcelona, and never seen them in the flesh. Saw quite a few Barcelona fans in Central London near my office yesterday, you get fans around Parliament Square when European games are on.

Good a facebook message last night from Andy Constable telling me he has left the Mead, so a big thank you to AC for the contribution he made over the last couple of seasons and some wonderful goals, he is moving on to Erith & Belvedere and best wishes to him. No more newsa at the moment, Twitter and Facebook both quiet and other websites don't have much.

Up the Mead :-)
