The report covers what went on in the 2-2 draw with Ilford well, so no need for me to cover the ground on a Monday morning, the main point for me is that the Mead get going and got a point from a game they could have lost if Ilford had taken there chances. Sam Mott made several top class saves to keep the score 0-0, but yet again you have to questions some calls made by the Referee. The main one being the clear foul on AC as he raced through in the first half which if the whistle had gone would have been a penalty to the Mead and a red card. Sometimes I feel officials done makes decisions to save themselves!!! In the end the Mead did not play well, but battled for the point which was pleasing to see.

Reading Keith's notes was interesting as usual, and his point about what happened last week at Brentwood with their No.9 again points to the officials not making consistent decisions that can affect the outcome of matchs. All everyone from players, management and supporters ask, is for a decisions to be made the same way on a regualr basis for things that happen. How a player running across to an official and using foul and abusive language right in the faces can only be deemed a yellow card offence is hard to understand.

Tough games ahead for the Mead, with a long trip to Ramsgate tomorrow night for Kent Senior Cup game, then a trip to Harlow for a league game on Saturday followed by Needham Market at home next week. Hope the team can get some results and as Keith said in his notes, make the end of the season run in exciting.
