Time to end my silence, and offer some words of encouragement :-)

It has been furstrating for me so far in 2011, with work and some health issues and not being able to see the Mead due to the weather and then a run of away games which I have not had the chance to attend. Results have gone against the Mead recently and I have just read the report on the Kentish Football site where Keith makes some very bold statements and I can understand his frustration as I know how hard he has worked to build a squad at Thamesmead to fight for a play-off place. Before the weather caused problems in late November and since then, we were looking good for a run at the play-off places and had in my view, matched every team we had played, and never been outplayed. Unfortunately the main problems recently is that goals have dried up and that I feel makes narrow defeats harder to take.

I hope the Gaffer and the management and team can have a good chat on Thursday and sort some thing out, and that will lead to a winning performance at the weekend and maybe the start of a run which will put pressure on the teams above now in the League.

Personally, I feel Keith has done an incredible job at the Mead and it would be a shame if Keith ended up walking away from the club.

I hope to get along at the weekend and let's hope we can return to winning ways.

Up the Mead :-)

As an Ilford, Redbridge & Waltham Forest watcher I went down to the game last night but the title of the report which said 'Embarrassing defeat for Thamesmead' probabaly indicates why AFC Sudbury and Potters Bar came a cropper against the two sides on the weekend as did Thamesmead last night. Listing the particulars of the ground ie track, pitch and floodlights seems to signify that these elements had something to do with the overall result which wasnt the case. Ilford matched Thamesmead blow for blow and played most of the little football there was on offer but in the final analysis both sides created almost the same amount of chances. Blazing chances over when in a shooting position is not worthy of mention as the twinkle toed Ilford goalscorer did that to much effct all night but was more threatening in working the goalkeeper. Ilford for sure did not look like a team near the foot of the table as didnt Walham Forest on Saturdayagainst Sudbury who are 3 points and 13 goals better off than Thamesmead.

I had the distinct impression the players , maybe not Kevin underestimated the opposition, this is a tight league at the bottom as well as the top and it seems as if the teams at the bottom are now getting into their stride The Forest play Grays tomorrow so lets see what happens. Thamesmead play a particular style which seems to have been rumbled as no wins in four with only one goal scored seems to indicate
