Well I was not that great health wise last week but battled through it, and missed the game last Tuesday night when the Mead lost on penalties in the 4th Round of the League Cup, I feel that was a good run as they matched up to opponents to a league higher quite well, so there are positives to be taken from those performances. No doubt the staff and players are frustrated with the weather both with problrms training and getting matches played, which will lead to quite a few more mid-week games in the new year. It looks unlikely that this weeks Kent Senior Cup match at Faversham will go ahead given the further snow we had at the weekend and the extremely cold weather. It was -9 in our car this morning when we headed out to work!!!!!!
I just hope everyone's plans for Christmas and New Year are not sunk by the weather including mine. I will miss the home game on the 3rd January if it happens, as I am due to be travelling up to Harrogate that day for my Uncles 60th Birthday celebration.
So we wait to see how the weather goes over the next week or so and whether the Mead will face any games, or will be further frustrated, and all us footballiing typres missed getting to see games.
I wish all the officials, staff and players and fellow supporters a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2011, which will hopefully see the Mead make progress and the new facilities finally opened!!!!! Well we can hope.
Cheers :-)
