Right, having all sorts of problems posting from home, so trying from work this morning and this is me with a new user name!!!!! The Mead secured another home win last night at a damp Bayliss Avenue, they were quick out of the blocks and the surprise was that it took nearly 25 mins for the opening goal to arrive, when Gabs slid AC thorugh and he slotted the ball home. The Mead piled on the pressure but could not find the 2nd goals in the first half, although one pile driver from Marcus Perona was brilliantly tipped away by the Tilbury Keeper. The Mead kept the pressure on in the 2nd half, and AC grabbed his second in the 62nd min when he clamly slottled the ball home after finding space. Now, Tilbury had a goal correctly ruled out for offiside as they came into the game a little, but the Mead got a 3rd goal, when a slick passing move saw a cross from the left met by Lea Dawson and the ball sailed in to make it 3-0. The Mead then seemed to drop a little which allowed Tilbury to have some pressure and they were rewarded when one of their strikers got in to slide the ball past Sam Mott and just over the line despite the valiant efforts of Marcus Perona. Another Tilbury goal could have seen a frantic finish but the Mead defence marshalled well by the back three of Moore, Campbell and Tozer held strong. The Mead have now risen to 5th in Ryman League One North although we have played one or two games more than some teams, but it is always good to get point on the board.
Next up is a revenge match with Heybridge in the FA Trophy on Saturday.
Cheers from now from the Scotsman :-)
