The Mead bounced back from Tuesday night with a comfortable 3-0 home win this afternoon. On a windy day at Bayliss Avenue they were out of the blocks quickly but could not get the early goal. However, with Waltham offer little a great cross field ball found Andy Constable who pulled it down well and thumped the ball home to put the Mead in front. Only a couple of minutes later a through ball found Gabriel M in the clear and he slotted the ball home for Number two. After that the first half sort of settled down in a midfeild struggle with a few chances for the Mead, but Sam Mott did not have much to do. Half time came and went and the Waltham showed a bit more early in the second half without really going close to a goal. The Mead then got the crucial third gold when a thumping shot from Scot M was spilled by the goalkeeper and AC was on hand to turn the ball home for his second of the game. The Mead created more chances but could not get the 4th goal but I am sure the Gaffer would have been happy with the performance today.
The Mead have the chance to build on this win when they host Tilbury on Tuesday night. I also spoke to Keith before the game, and it seems the 3G pitch saga has not moved forward, and I feel frustrated for Keith and the club. I was hopeful that something could be resolved.
Anyway, I hope the players can recover ok, and look forward to Tuesday.
Cheers :-)
