Good news day

Another interesting signing in a position where we still need a bit of pace and a tasty cup tie against Faversham. Congratulations to James and Lisa too, let's hope James comes back from his honeymoon raring to go.

Must say congratulations to Rob Smith as well, who's doing an excellent job on the news and reporting front as our new Press Officer. I'm glad to have handed over the job to someone experienced and knows what he's doing! It makes a nice change to log on and see the website automatically updated, rater than having to log on and add the news!! Keep it up mate.

Re: Good news day

I echo Kev's comments as I always seem to do, congratulations to James and Lisa on joining the married ranks, and it is good to see the web site being updated regularly, althouhg Kevin did a stellar job over the last few years Ithink and I keep this forum going mostly now.

Good to see another new signing and I think the striking department maybe needed another new face and to get someone to come from a team in the same league shows that players must be sold the club well by the Gaffer. As I type this the player's are probably warming up for tonights friendly and I hope they have another good workout. I have been in increasing pain recently with a groin/ hip problem on my left side and I went to the doc's tonight and have been referred for an x-ray to see if there is anything wrong, So I will head up to the QE11 hospital at Woolwich later in the week for that. I would have liked to have come tonight, but as I was out last night, keeping on the good side of the Wife!!!!!!

I have been thinking again about how we can increase the Mead's fan base and what I am about to suggest might have been tried before, and I know the Committee and Keith see the re-development of Bayliss Avenue as hopefully a catalyst for encouraging more people to attend, however I was thinking of starting small and maybe commencing a Target 100 campaign initially to try and increase crowds. now how we do this I woulds love the chance to talk to the committee, Keith, the new press officer and see what options we have. So maybe I could come along to a committee meeting at some point.

Anyway, enough for now, hope the Mead put in another good performance tonight, and I hope to be back at Bayliss Avenue soon,

Cheers :-)
