Well I walked over with my daughter to watch the Friendly against Maidstone yesterday, and I felt the Mead matched a team from a step higher very well and got a deserved winner bot long before the end. Chances were few are far between in the first half, although Steve Northwood made a good double save early on to keep the scores level, the back three for the Mead were sold, and the midfield were pinging the ball about and just the final ball was lacking at times. In the second half the Mead had a fdew chances whilst I though that Maidstone never really threatened Sam Mott's goal. The usal raft of subsituations means I cannot give you the name of the Mead scorer, but the goal came about 10 mins from time when a ball over the top was misjudged by Maidstone's defence and keeper and the Mead forward nipped in to lob it over the keeper and walk the ball into the net. I hope Keith was pleased with the workout, and the friendlies keep coming thick and fast with another two scheduled for this week. I hope any aches and pains are not to bad, although I know that the Skipper has some muscle problems. and just needs to watch himself. Also, I was no trying to be negative in my last post, my view is you should support your team thorugh thick and thin, accepting it can be frustrating at times. I really enjoy coming along to watch the Mead and hope in time we can get more people to do so (I increased the crowd by one yesterday)!!!!!!!
Cheers :-)
