Ramblings from me :-)

Well the first pre-season game is nearly here, and I am hopeful of getting along tomorrow. Good to see Keith signed another player this week and it will be interesting to see how the new players acquired fit in with the returning squad members. I saw that finally this week the league fixtures appeared and the Mead are away from their first game to Needham Market, now I have no idea where that is!!!! First home game follows a few days later and sadly I will miss that as I will be away in Scotland. Think I actually miss the 2nd home game too so will just need to enjoy the friendlies I can get too and then league and cup games from early September. I did earlier this week get tickets for Charlton's first home game against Bournemouth, so myself, my wife and daughter are going along to that game on the 7th August and I am actively encouraging them to come along to watch the Mead. Katie, my daughter has been over once before I think. I see also today on the Charlton website that the Chartlton Ladies Team will be playing their home games at Bayliss Avenue this season and I am sure that is bringing some much needed revenue into the Mead. The building work still looks to be progressing well, and I feel this is an exciting time for Thamesmead Town. My Scottish team Hamilton sold their midfielder James McArthur to Wigan today for an undicolosed fee, rumoured to be in the region of an intial £500k plus add on's they sold there other young midfielder James McCarthy to Wigan at the same time last season. They need to get some more players in before the start of the SPL season in a few weeks. Right, enough for the time being, and I hope to get along to tomorrows friendly, cheers :-)

Re: Ramblings from me :-)

Well sadly I did not make it yesterday to see the Mead's fiirdt friendly, as I had a family emergency to deal with, which thankfully is all ok now. My neice Alexa suffed some brain damage at birth due to negligence by the hospital and she needed to be rushed into Great Portland Street hospital yesterday morning and then I had to go back at get her and her parents just as I was about to head over to Bayliss Avenue. Good report on the Kentish Times website and it looks like it was a good intial work out for the Mead, and Keith seemed quite happy. Winning is always good for the moral of any team. Hopefully I will make it along to one of the friendlies during the week.

Cheers :-)
