Well here I am again, thankfully near the end of another working week, it is no fun in a large government department at the moment. But at least we have finally reached the start of the World Cup tomorrow, and hopefully it will have plenty of good games, and I geniunely (even though I'm Scottish) hope England have a good tournament. I don't think they will have any problems getting through their group, they should beat Algeria and Slovenia but I think the USA might hold then to a draw on Saturday night. The main news this week is whether Wayne Rooney can keep his temper in check, he has always had that side to him and it is part of his game. England needs him to keep cool and deliver if they are to do well, but it is time Lampard and Gerrard, two great players deliver as well. The defence should be resonably solid apart from not knowing which goalkeeper will start, although Capello claims today that he knows his starting eleven.
I watched Brazil thump Tanzania the other night, and to me they look well organised and are very dangerous going forward, and I think they are the team to beat, I also fancy that Argentina will do well even with mad maradona as there coach, Messi is capable (like Rooney) of winning games on his own. Spain are being tipped to do well and I think they are strong but and I fancy Holland might do well. The conditions (I beleive it is winter in South Africa) might help the european times and kick off times are more normal as well. So it is on with the show, I hope everyone enjoys it.
Cheers :-)
