I was delighted to be at Bayliss Avenue this afternoon, had a brief chat with the Gaffer and met TTFC Kev, who I stood beside and we had a good chat while watching the game. It was a good battle, and just goes to proof that there are no easy games. The game got off to a flyer with the Mead scoring within the first couple of minutes, but Harlow got back the goal almost straight away with a header from a corner. Joel Greaves grabbed the winner and looks a useful additon to the squad. We thought he had gone to wide but his finish was class and I told TTFC Kev he should be man of the match for that. Some better final choice of pass might have brought I third goal which would have killed the game, and Harlow had a little bit of pressure towards the end, and one claim for a penalty, however we felt it was a dive or that the forward was looking for it, and thankfully the referee was strong. We thought the ref generally had a good game, apart from one of the bookings. Here comes a little bit of a dig, the Mead players need to walk away when the ref makes a decision, we seems to be getting to many bookings for dissent. I also thought that the Mead midfield struggled to impose themselves today at times. But in the end, well done to the team for battling again and holding on for the win, which I felt was deseved. Up to 3rd in the league now which is great for the club. I hope to get the chance to chat to the gaffer more soon, cheers, Colin :-)
