Ressies do the double
Kent League Division 1/2 Cup Final
Thamesmead Town 4 Whitstable Town 1

Thamesmead Town's reserves clinched the league and cup double on Saturday with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Whitstable Town in the Kent League Division 1/2 Cup Final.

Goals from young Jack Hopkins, two from top scorer David Batt and one from Raffiel Momodu clinched the cup a week after securing the Division 1 title.

Thamesmead reserves retain the Kent League Divison One title with two games still to play, after their 1-0 win at home to Dartford on Tuesday night. They now look to make it a couble by winning the Kent League Division one/two Cup in two weeks time.

Thamesmead condemed Witham Town to relegation and ensured their own Ryman League safety with a 2-1 away victory at the Essex side. Early goals from Kevill and Mulholland secured three points and safety from relegation to ensure Ryman League football at the redeveloped Bayliss Avenue in 2009/10.
